Welcome to Birchwood Archery (also known as Birchwood Bowbenders). We are a small, independently run archery club that operates on the grounds of Birch Bay Ranch with the Ranch’s blessing. We are guests at the facility and not owners, managers, or administrators of Birch Bay Ranch.
Our mission is simple: to provide safe, faith-based archery lessons that connect youth and families through sport, patience, and Biblical principles. By using this website or registering for our programs, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.
1. Insurance & Liability

Birchwood Archery Coaches operates under the Archery Alberta and Archery Canada insurance coverage, as the program is led by a certified NCCP Coach in good standing.

Our Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance is provided through Lloyd’s of London. This policy is designed as a basic-level sports CGL—it provides essential protection but does not cover all risks.

Archery is an activity with inherent risks. By participating, you accept those risks and agree not to hold Birchwood Archery, Birch Bay Ranch, its coaches, instructors, volunteers, or affiliates liable for incidents outside reasonable control.
2. Data Collection & Privacy

We do not store personal registration information on this website. All registration forms are transmitted securely and stored offline by the program administrator.

Information collected is used only for program administration, performance tracking, and necessary communication with participants/guardians.

We do not sell, share, or transfer personal data to third parties.

All collection, handling, and retention of information is conducted in compliance with Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Camper or staff references to Birch Bay Ranch are for identification purposes only and are not linked to or cross-referenced with Birch Bay Ranch’s systems.

3. Safe Sport Standards
Birchwood Archery aligns with nationally recognized Safe Sport practices:

Rule of Two – A minimum of two adults/parent are always present during private lessons.

UCCMS – We adhere to the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport.

NCCP Certification – All lessons are instructed by an NCCP-certified coach in good standing.

Respect in Sport – Completed by the lead instructor to ensure respectful, positive coaching environments.

4. Code of Conduct

Athletes are expected to follow all safety rules, respect instructors and fellow participants, and demonstrate sportsmanship.

Parents/Guardians must follow our Parent Code of Conduct (COC). Disrespectful or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

As a faith-based club, we integrate Biblical values of patience, humility, and encouragement into every session.
5. Small Club Acknowledgment
Birchwood Archery is a small, grassroots club. We are not a provincial or national governing body, nor do we have the resources of one. We operate with limited capacity, under Birch Bay Ranch’s blessing, and as guests at their facility.
This means:

Services and offerings may be limited compared to larger organizations.

Scheduling, space, and programming are subject to Ranch time and booking.

Our focus is on safe lessons, mentorship, and fun—not large-scale operations.
